It acts as a cabin air duct seal ring, forming a tight, airtight seal between segments of the cabin air supply duct. This seal prevents the loss of conditioned air, ensuring the ECS can maintain the designed temperature, humidity and air pressure in the cabin, avoiding uneven cabin environment, reduced passenger comfort, or insufficient fresh air supply during flight.
